RRR, which cost 550 crores (US$72 million) to produce, is one of the most costly Indian movies ever as well as the most expensive Telugu movie. RRR was presented in theatres on March 25, 2022. RRR was the greatest opening-day revenue of any Indian movie, earning 240 crores (US$30 million) globally on its first day. With over 415 crores (US$52 million) in revenue, it became the most successful movie in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it was released. Summary: A fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they started fighting for their country in the 1920s.
A little tribal girl named Malli is taken away by the British governor Scott Buxton and his wife Catherine during British rule, against the desires of the child’s mother. Rama Raju is an Indian police officer who serves in the British army. He prioritizes his work above all else and treats Indian revolutionaries brutally, but the British government never rewards him for it. The British government discovers that a tribal member named Komaram Bheem, who views Malli as his sister, has begun looking for her and would be a challenge for the British troops.
A special position has been made available by the governor and his wife to any officer who can bring Bheem to them. Rama Raju makes the decision to take matters into his own hands and makes a commitment to the authorities to turn himself in, living or dead. By this time, Bheem has arrived in the city in quest of Malli and is posing as Akhtar, a mechanic. He and Rama Raju risk their lives to save a child during a train disaster on a lake, and they later become close friends. But in order to achieve their tasks, each guy will clash with the other and hunger for blood.

Both Indian and Western critics unanimously praised RRR. Rajamouli’s storyline and directing, action scenes, character development, lead actors’ performances, and musical numbers all received positive reviews. 95 percent of the 100 reviews from critics on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes are favorable, with an overall rating of 8.30/10. According to the consensus on the website, “Intoxicatingly over the top, RRR pulls out all the stops to make the absolute most of its 187-minute runtime.”
Based on 17 reviews, the weighted average review site Metacritic gave the movie a “universal acclaim” rating of 83 out of 100, signifying “universal acclaim.” The movie was the third Indian film to appear on the list after Gangs of Wasseypur (66th) and Lagaan (12th) in June 2022, when it was placed 86th globally on Rotten Tomatoes “The 100 Best Movies 3 Hours or Longer” list. The movie received the top spot on USA Today’s list of the “Best Movies of 2022 so far” in June of that year.
