Meghna, a young girl, decides to tell her father Dheeraj about her love for Arjun on her twenty-first birthday. However, when she learns that Dheeraj has committed suicide, her biggest nightmare comes true. Meghna learns that her mother Radhika is to blame for both her father’s suicide and the fact that she abandoned her when she was a toddler. Meghna, unable to stomach her mother’s betrayal, decides to seek vengeance and moves in with Radhika and her family in order to destroy them. Meghna hatches a cunning plan to use her father’s ghost to wreck havoc on Radhika and her family.

The Times of India‘s Abhishek Srivastava gave the movie two out of five stars and commented, “It’s amazing how much has changed recently, yet Vikram Bhatt’s method of making horror films remains locked in a time warp. He has since handed the torch off to his daughter Krishna Bhatt, but neither freshness nor true fright remains. The plot of “1920 Horrors of the Heart” is absurd and cliched, unable to hold viewers’ attention. The literary license used and interwoven into the narrative irritates rather than amuses. The movie would have been considered if the writers had placed more effort into coming up with really terrifying scenes.
A mediocre horror movie overall, 1920: Horror of the Hearts had a rating of 1.75/5 on 123telugu.com. The movie offers no form of entertainment. It has a weak screenplay, a slow-moving narration, and an unconvincing story.
This is simply another Bollywood horror film that is made only to milk the genre and attempt to scare without any substance, according to Umesh Punwani of Koimoi, who gave the movie a rating of 1/5.
